The LL Social Co. Lost to the Storm Tee — Treasure Coast | 1715 tells the story of one of Florida’s most extraordinary chapters of maritime history: the Spanish treasure fleet lost along Florida’s Atlantic coast during the hurricane of 1715.

Across the back, a storm-tossed treasure-fleet vessel emerges through layers of an aged navigational chart, weather observations and hand-drawn markings. A sweeping Sea Glass Gulf Stream traces the northbound current through the Florida Straits, while coastline details, compass bearings and handwritten notes create the feeling of a centuries-old chart rediscovered and studied again.

Near the bottom, an irregular Spanish silver cob provides the clue. Beside it, the handwritten observation “the dates stop at 1715…” recalls the discoveries that would eventually help connect Spanish coins found along Florida’s shoreline to the lost fleet.

Rendered in Saltwashed Navy, Storm Blue, weathered parchment, oxidized silver and faded Sea Glass Aqua, the artwork is intentionally distressed and translucent, allowing the color and texture of the tee itself to become part of the composition.
